Welcome to "Fantastic Fables"! In this engaging and interactive first-grade ELA class, students will embark on a journey through the magical world of fables. In this class, students will dive into a read-aloud story that captivates their imaginations and teaches valuable lessons. This self-paced class is designed to engage young learners by listening to a fun story and participating in follow-up activities to reinforce our story. This class includes: Read-Aloud Stories: Listening to and discussing a timeless fable. Building Vocabulary: Developing a knowledge and understanding of diverse words. Reading Comprehension: Enhancing understanding through thoughtful discussion and activities. With over 15 years of experience under my belt, I have honed my skills in teaching the highly effective Orton-Gillingham reading approach and advocating for students with Dyslexia and other Special Education needs.

I firmly believe that education should be a personalized experience that caters to the unique strengths and challenges of each individual student.
To achieve this, I employ a range of cognitive teaching methods that are specifically designed to meet the diverse needs of my students. I firmly believe in providing structured, explicit, multi-sensory, and systematic instruction that targets the specific areas of difficulty for each student. By employing these evidence-based strategies, I ensure that my students receive the support they need to develop essential reading and language skills.
In my classroom, I create a warm and inclusive atmosphere that encourages collaboration, respect, and understanding. I strive to build strong relationships with my students, their families, and other professionals involved in their education, fostering a team approach that maximizes student success.
I am passionate about advocating for students with Dyslexia and other Special Education needs, both within and beyond the classroom. This enables me to provide the most effective and innovative instruction to my students, empowering them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
