Description
Class Experience
Students will learn basic words from our stories as well as a few bigger challenging words. We will have multiple activities that involve critical thinking and problem-solving as well as different art project opportunities.
Week 1/Week of June 1: three different sizes of one plant (flowers, leaves, vines, anything that grows) Week 2/Week of June 8: clothespins and popsicle sticks and small goats/animals (goats/animals optional) Week 3/Week of June 15: clothespins and popsicle sticks and multiple small items such as small blocks Week 4/Week of June 22: items to build a house such as cotton balls, clothespins, popsicle sticks, Q-tips, etc.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Each story has its own villain such as The Big Bad Wolf or an Ogre. I use an angry face and elevated voice when saying their lines in the story. I try to give the general idea of the character, but nothing too loud or mean.
Paraphrased Versions Fables and Fairy Tales: The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, The Tortise and the Hare, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Billy Goat's Gruff, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
