Get ready for a jolly good time this December! We have five fun-filled days of science planned for us to do together! During each class, we will complete one fun Christmas/December-themed science experiment as well as read stories and/or watch videos to go along with the activity. The science concepts covered each day are different, but on a level for your child to understand. All experiments are hands-on and engaging, which is perfect for children ages 5-9! For the most part, children can complete the experiments on their own, but there are times that some parental assistance may be needed. Here is what's on the schedule for each week: Day 1: Flying Reindeer STEM Activity Day 2: Christmas Lava Lamps Day 3: Reindeer Toothpaste Day 4: Grow the Grinch's Heart Day 5: Fizzing Christmas Tree Supplies for each week will be listed in the classroom once you sign up. Hi, thank you so much for showing interest in my classes! My name is Heather Horn and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have been a public school teacher for 14 years in addition to being a substitute teacher for 4 years prior to that. I am passionate about preparing littles for the beginning of their school career! Kindergarten readiness is so important to start them off on the right foot and become successful learners. Teaching kids to read is another passion of mine and such an important milestone in kindergarten, so I've had lots of experience with that.
