Class Experience
If you know the basics of paper bead rolling, this paper pendent is the next step to crafting a finished jewelry piece. After a brief review of the basics, you will learn how to make a pendent to use in jewelry or other craft projects. This class incorporates fine motor skills including the use of scissors to cut thin strips of paper, twisting glue tops, squeezing, mixing, painting and manipulating paper in a specific manner. Accommodations, tips and tricks will be shown along the way for...
-Follow directions to create a pendent from paper. -Increase scissor skills by cutting thin strips of paper. -Participate in class discussion.
-Cutting templates (see file attachments) -Work surface that is okay to get glue on (plastic place mat, old cutting board, wax paper, etc.) -Any colorful paper: Magazines, Sale flyers, Junk Mail, Take-out Menus, Wrapping Paper, etc. -Pencil or pen -Ruler -Scissors (longer blade scissors are ideal, but not necessary) -One or more of the following: toothpick, bamboo skewer, chop stick -Glue stick and/or -White glue -Water -2 Small mixing containers (plastic cup or food container) -Paintbrush -Damp sponge, wet wipes or paper towels (to wipe sticky hands and clean-up afterward)
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
