Description
Class Experience
Students will learn details of the Wright brothers' first flight on December 17, 1903 near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Through a slide presentation, we will focus on some of the stories of the 5 eyewitnesses to this occasion. After discussing the events that transpired and the reaction to those events by people who were there, each learner will have the opportunity to share how they might have reacted if they had been present. All students will be encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas....
Students will sharpen their skills of evaluating sources, looking at points of view, and making comparisons.
I have a degree in secondary social studies education, and 14 years of classroom teaching experience, both in public schools and homeschool enrichment classes.
A handout will be uploaded to the Outschool classroom that students may use to help them create their postcard. Students will need something to write with and may wish to have something to use to color their postcard.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
