Class Experience

Dr J will teach a 5 day fresh and Salt water fishing camp experience.  The class will me held on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday of the first Week and a Monday/Wednesday of the next week or vise versa.  This class will discuss in detail the various kinds of fresh and Salt water fish there are to catch, the equipment needed to catch them,  the lures and bait needed, and the various techniques used to catch them.  The learners will practice making worm, frog, and soft plastic rigs,  how to use them, and where to use them.  Learner will get opportunities to discuss their favorite fishing lures and their best experiences while fishing.  Each day Dr. J will cover a different type of fish.  The first day (day one) will cover advanced Bass and Peacock Bass fishing. Basic information will be given about the types of fish, what types of equipment that is needed, what lures to use, and what techniques are needed to catch them.  The second day (day two) will cover Bream, Bluegill, Sunfish and Catfish. We will follow the same format as the first day but will pay close attention to distinguishing between the various kinds of Sunfish and the various kinds of Catfish.   The third day (day 3) will cover more rare fish like Clown Knife, Bowfin, and Snake Heads.  During this day we will look at similar types of information as well as show videos of people catching these  exotic fish.  The fourth (day 4) and fifth (day 5) days will cover salt water fishing including special equipment, catching bait, and will discuss a variety of fish like Snook, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, and Sharks and how to catch them.  We will discuss regulations on ways you can fish for these species and limit rules on how many you can keep.

Dr. will use a interactive style blended with short lecture.  Learners will get the opportunity to participate by sharing stories, asking questions, and sharing pictures.  Learners will be challenged to go out into nature and practice their fishing skills.  Dr. J will also use pictures, video clips and power point interactive lecture.
