This class will spark an interest in art history, and teach students that looking at and learning about art can help our own creations come out even better. Students will be introduced to a variety of subject matter, styles, and materials to discover which they like best and start to discover their own artistic voice. They will also be introduced to some artists who experienced disability or difficulty and found joy and purpose through expressing themselves creatively. They will learn that sometimes people who are different can still have a lot to teach us and are worth getting to know.
