I aim in this class to explain the fascinating accomplishments, leaders and long lasting impact of the Ancient Rome to prove ancient does not always mean primitive. While taking this course we will cover a wide variety of topics pertaining to Ancient Rome and how their impact could be seen for thousands of years to come. We will also learn about how the United States government saw the forward thinking of Ancient Rome and modeled some government parts we see today. Join along in the journey to discover more about Ancient Rome! Tentative Course Topics: Beginnings of Ancient Rome, origins of government systems, influential leaders and structure of country. Global power, military viewpoints, Julius Caesar, and Ides of March. Additional Topics We Will Cover: Infrastructure, art, geography, entertainment, and how we see parts of Ancient Rome today! The material will be taught through PowerPoint presentations, shorts videos, and collaborative conversations. I love for my students to learn not only from myself but through the help of their fellow classmates. This is my goal to have collaborative conversations that make each student question, answer and gauge their own level of knowledge about the topic. This course will be taught from the United States point of view, but shown respect and proper research towards Ancient Greece.
