Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will get to learn about a different state located in the United States each week. Students will have the opportunity to learn facts about the state such as the following: location, capital, state bird, state mammal, landmarks, motto, and fun facts. Students will have the option to fill out a worksheet as we learn the fun facts so they can remember and study them as well. Every class, students will also have the opportunity to briefly share if they have any fun facts to share about the state or their experiences if they have lived or visited the state.
After learning fun facts about the state, we will do a fun art project using a different art medium each month. The class will rotate using colored pencils, chalk pastels, watercolors, and acrylics each month. (See supply list to see which supply to have for the month). I will guide the students how to create a beautiful picture to represent the state, it may be the state bird, mammal, or flower. I will show students how to create a quick sketch using a pencil and then we will use whatever the art medium is for the month (either colored pencils, chalk pastels, watercolors, acrylics) to finish our artwork. Come join me in learning about the beautiful states located in the United States and have fun creating art!

Schedule:

Last week of August will be the final class.
Learning Goals
My goal of this class is to help teach kids how to create beautiful artwork and various art techniques using different art mediums, and also to teach them fun geography facts about the states.
