US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
In this 4 week class, students will learn all about the 4 layers of the rainforest through an engaging slide show presentation. Students will also have an opportunity to share their knowledge about the rainforest as well. Each week, we will begin class with sharing time, then move into our research for the day. At the end of each class, we will be creating that layer of the rainforest inside of a cardboard box which will be stacked to create a model of the 4 layers of the rainforest! By the end of all four sessions, the students will have an interactive model that can be used for additional research and play. We will be exploring plant and animal life in each of the 4 levels of the rainforest. Week one: Forest Floor Week two: Understory Week three: Canopy Week four: Emergent This class is designed to meet each child at their level and allows for various learning styles. Optional PDF's will be provided but learners are always encouraged to used their imagination and creativity while creating their project!

Scissors and Glue may be used.
Supply List
Students will need 4 similar sized boxes. Each week they will bring one box to class along with scissors, markers, glue, paper and any additional supplies they would like (toys, pom poms, pipe cleaners, sticks, leaves, optional PDF, etc!)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello to Everyone! My name is Miss Meghan and I can’t wait to meet your child. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes for preschool and early elementary ages.
I hold a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. At the beginning of my career, I worked extensively with children with autism in home settings designing programs to help students access the world around them in an empowering way. After my oldest daughter was born, I became a licensed childcare provider creating a home away from home for many children to grow and learn. When my youngest daughter was born, I decided it was time to explore other options and that is how I landed at Outschool. I am so grateful for this opportunity and love meeting new learners from all over the world.
I have a passion for instilling a love of learning in young children through exposure, messy play, and fun! I strongly believe that letting children delve into learning at their own level and allowing for different types of learning styles sets children up for a life long learning journey.
In addition to teaching on Outschool, I also homeschool my two daughters who are my pride and joy. I feel so grateful to have a career that I love that also affords me the opportunity to spend time with my own children as well. In my free time, I enjoy art, brainstorming new lesson ideas, cross stitch, and reading!
