Using a pencil, a piece of graph paper and a straight edge, scissors optional, students will explore the Pythagorean Theorem, discovering not only how but also why it works. We’ll cover right angles, hypotenuse, squaring numbers, square roots, including estimating them, measuring distances and estimating fractional measurements.
