I am a full-time Spanish teacher and a national presenter of this topic. I have shared this topic with thousands of teachers throughout the United States in national and state-level teacher conferences. As a Spanish teacher, it is imperative to teach culture, so I enjoy this part of my job, plus, I happen to be an Afro-Latina from the Dominican Republic and my husband is as well.
Students will answer discussion questions for homework to be ready to discuss in the live Zoom session.
Kahoot.it- will provide the code to play along. The teacher will share recipes on the first session for students to have at hand for the next session. The teacher will provide the music, photos of Afro-Latinos, and slide show presentations for students to keep.
Students will play games such as Kahoot and answer trivia questions to ensure understanding of the topics mentioned. Discussions and opinions about the topics will allow students to demonstrate their knowledge of the topic.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
