Description
Class Experience
With simple science projects and experiments your learner will be introduced to the steps of the Scientific Method. -Making initial observations -Coming up with a question of interest based on the observations -Developing a hypothesis or prediction to go along with the question -Experimenting and testing -Gathering and recording results of tests and experiments and drawing conclusions -Sharing and discussing result We will be able to cover most of the steps pretty well just by talking about… what they think will happen.
I have been certified for birth through grade ^ for over 10 years. I have been teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten the past 5 years and love introducing children to the world around them through science!
While there is no homework for this class. Students are encourage to continue learning at home by expanding on the activities. Keeping track of results turns a science activity into an experiment. Change one variable at a time to see if the inquirys we made as a class change. Keep track of results in your journal either by writing or drawing about it. This is also a great way to practice writing, and mark making, which is an improtant step in a child's handwriting development.
Notebook or writing paper, pencil, crayons. Materials may be needed per class for the activity or experiment, they will be posted in the classroom the week prior.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
