Class Experience

This 12 week course will provide a fun and engaging approach to learning that covers the Nature of Science, Physical science, Life Science, and Earth Science.

We will discover just how cool science is with opportunities to experiment, explore and engage in science play and practices. This class meets once a week to discuss being a scientist through multiple topics (listed below).

My style of teaching will be both teacher led discussion on the topic with stories, vocabulary, and questions to help guide learners. With interactive and engaging ways to explore the given topic.

This class will introduce kids to aspects of the scientific method that allow kids the opportunity to make and test predictions.

Class format will stay the same throughout the course to maintain consistency.
Greetings, Introduction of topic through a book, vocabulary words, activity/experiment, followed by sharing something they learned in class, ending with good byes.

Activities and fun videos will be shared in the classroom the week prior. This is to help you prepare any materials you might want to have on hand, and to pique your learners interest in that weeks topic. You are not required to do the experiments at home, but your child may want to replicate and test their theories out again after the class.

Class 12: Ice and Snow

I look forward to meeting your learner as we enjoy simple science projects and experiments designed for kids to learn about science in a fun, interactive way!

Learning Goals

With simple science projects and experiments your learner will be introduced to the steps of the Scientific Method.
-Making initial observations
-Coming up with a question of interest based on the observations
-Developing a hypothesis or prediction to go along with the question
-Experimenting and testing
-Gathering and recording results of tests and experiments and drawing conclusions
-Sharing and discussing result

We will be able to cover most of the steps pretty well just by talking about…
what they think will happen.
