Class Experience
This class is intended for early elementary beginning readers. Students should know their letter names and sounds. Students will practice sight words using picture books. These stories are easy to learn and fun to read due to their synthetic phonics usage. Before the story is read, students will be introduce to the two sight words. As the story is read, students will listen for the sight words in the story. Next, students will do an activity (printout provided in the classroom before...
Students will learn new sight words, practice reading comprehension skills, and use social skills to take turns and listen to others.
I have taught PreK for the past 6 years out of the 13 years I have teaching, and am certified preK-6th in the state of Florida. I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and am working on my master’s in special education. With the pandemic I am homeschooling two of my four kiddos (Kindergarten and preschool) and am enjoying the time being with them. Outschool is the blessing of still being able to teach and interact with students in a classroom!
Printouts of sight word materials
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
