Students will learn about food chains through dissecting an owl pellet! We will learn and discuss what owl pellets are and how they help us learn about owls and the environment they live in. Students will then dissect an owl pellet with the teacher. No owl pellet? No problem! There is still a ton to do in the class and students will be able to watch and participate with the dissection through my camera. Once our exploration of the pellet is complete, we will investigate using clues to figure out what animal our owl ate to create this pellet.

I love teaching! I have been a classroom teacher for 3 years, in both 1st grade and 5th grade. My B.A. is in elementary education, and I am pursuing my MA in literacy. I love creating curriculum and doing my best to inspire a love for learning in my students!
I'm a teacher who loves learning! I think that learning should happen naturally as well as purposefully. Subjects aren't in "boxes," and they integrate with each other constantly. Learning should be fun and interesting, not forced! In my classes we'll take an interactive and flexible approach to learning key objectives from the class.
