IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an ongoing course on a 16 week rotation. The lessons do not build upon each other, which means the learner can join anytime during the rotation. Once I have taught all 16 lessons, I will start over from the beginning (the first topic). I will NOT close out the class when I start over. Join me as we take a tour of our Solar System! This is an ongoing course that will meet once a week. Topics will include the planets, dwarf planets, the Sun, Moon, Kuiper Belt, stars, galaxies and space travel. This class is great for learners who love astronomy and want to take a more in-depth look at the subject. This class will be lecture-based and I will be using visuals (photos and short video clips) to keep the students engaged. I encourage student output and interaction, but it is not required. Students can speak as much or as little as they would like. Each week, the students will receive a worksheet to complete after the class is over. This handout is not required, but is available for an extra review of what they learned during class. Here are the topics that will be taught each week: ******** Class that meets on TUESDAYS ******** May 16- Jupiter May 23 - Saturn May 30- Uranus June 6 - Neptune This class ends after the June 6 class!

Hi! My name is Cristina and I am an Astronomy and Meteorology teacher. I have been an educator for over a decade, having earned a Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry with a minor in Psychology and Counseling. I am a certified severe storm spotter for both the National Weather Service and the Spotter Network, and am proud to be a NASA Social alumni.
