Description

Class Experience

In this one-time, introductory class, students will learn the basics of the music of the medieval and renaissance eras in a fun, interactive way.  

We'll learn about European medieval and renaissance daily life and history as we explore the musical instruments, music styles, famous musical pieces, and famous composers of both eras. Class time will be spent discussing and listening to music, playing games and activities, and even sometimes making music ourselves. Students will walk away with...

I'm a multi-instrumentalist who's been teaching music since 2014 - both private instrument lessons and music appreciation classes for all ages. I have also been studying music history and world music professionally since 2014.

Students will be sent home with optional homework that will include assigned listening, as well as craft and activity ideas.

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
