Description

Class Experience

In this one-time, introductory class, students will get an introduction to jazz music in a fun, interactive way.  

In class, we'll go over the history of jazz, including its origins, learn about various important jazz composers and performers, and learn what defines jazz and different jazz subgenres. Class time will be spent discussing and listening to music as well as playing games and activities. Students will walk away with a greater appreciation and understanding of music, creativity,...

I'm a multi-instrumentalist who's been teaching music since 2014 - both private instrument lessons and music appreciation classes for all ages. I have also been studying music history and world music professionally since 2014.

Students will be sent home with optional homework that will include assigned listening, as well as craft and activity ideas.

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
