In this one-time, introductory class, students will learn the basics of the classical music of the 20th century in a fun, interactive way. We'll learn about daily life and the history of the 20th century as we explore the musical instruments, music styles, famous musical pieces, and famous composers (Gershwin, Stravinsky, etc.) of the era. Class time will be spent discussing and listening to music as well as playing games and activities. Students will walk away with a greater appreciation...
I'm a multi-instrumentalist who's been teaching music since 2014 - both private instrument lessons and music appreciation classes for all ages. I have also been studying music history and world music professionally since 2014.
Students will be sent home with optional homework that will include assigned listening, as well as craft and activity ideas.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
