Class Experience

Students will learn letters, and the sound (s) that those letters make. We will draw pictures to match the beginning sounds of letters we discussed. For example, we will draw a dog to go beside the letter 'D' because it begins with that letter. We will share our ideas with one another and learn how to take turns, raise our hands and learn school culture we will take turns sharing our ideas and learning from one another.
I am a Teacher who has taught from Kindergarten to Grade 6. I believe that having a strong language base of letters and sounds is essential to build on for future learning opportunities.
Students will be asked each time if they know any words that begin with the letters we will be learning about. Each student will be given opportunities to share what they know, and will be encouraged to ask questions to support their learning.
Students should have a pencil and paper, or marker and white board to participate in class and show their peers their hard work.
Assessment will be oral/informal.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
