Beginner - Advanced Level
In this ongoing enrichment class, students will explore a new film genre each week, diving into the techniques and storytelling methods that define horror, comedy, drama, and action films. This creative journey is perfect for students who love movies and want to learn more about what makes each genre unique. Week 1: Horror Discover how filmmakers build suspense and fear in horror films, using techniques like lighting, music, and camera angles. Week 2: Comedy Explore the world of comedy, learning about timing, dialogue, and how humor can be visual as well as verbal. Week 3: Drama Dive into drama, understanding how character development and emotional arcs are used to tell meaningful, impactful stories. Week 4: Action Learn how action films create excitement and tension with fast-paced editing, stunts, and dynamic storytelling. Each week’s lesson stands alone, so students can join at any point and enjoy exploring their favorite genres without needing prior knowledge. This is a creative space for film lovers to discuss, discover, and engage with the magic of cinema.
