Class Experience

The world is filled with shades of gray, and in this class we will explore how to photograph them all!

Students will:
-Learn to capture black and white photos in a variety of styles. 
-Learn the basics of photo editing to convert color images to black and white. 
-Create a portfolio of photos.

I have been a teacher for over fifteen years with experience teaching online and in person. I have taught reading, writing, arts, and life skills to a wide variety of students.

Students will be expected to turn in approximately five photos per week and a final portfolio consisting of ten photos and ten short descriptions.

- Digital Camera or Smartphone with a Camera
- Computer with basic photo editing software (Windows Photo, Apple Photos, Google Photos, etc.)

Students will receive feedback on individual photos and a final portfolio assessment.

No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.

Students will be expected to post photos to the classroom. Please ensure that all photos are appropriate for sharing and do not include any personal information, such as addresses.

All material that we use in this class is original photography, lessons, and analysis worksheets created by me.
