* positive affirmations strategies.

My name is Bella, and I am a certified teacher. I have taught in inclusive schools as well as behaviour schools for 20 years. I have always taught a variety of children with different disabilities, especially autistic and ADHD students. Teaching children direct strategies and techniques to manage their emotions has always been part of classroom management, and I used to do this at least once a day at circle time in my school.

I also hold a second degree in Social Work (2004) and a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Psychology (2019).
In addition, I have attended the following courses:
โœจ Understanding Autism 2022 - Level 2
โœจ Mindfulness for Daily Living 2019
โœจ Understanding Anxiety 2019
โœจ Behaviour Management (in classroom) 2015
โœจ NLP Diploma in Life Coaching 2014
โœจ Effective Communication Techniques for Teachers (2014)

I have a daughter who is autistic, a husband who is dyslexic and has ADHD. I resigned from teaching in public schools two and a half years ago, and I started tutoring and doing interventions for autistic and ADHD children from my home and also online. I also teach ukulele and guitar on Outschool, which is my second passion.

My classes are fun, interactive, small groups of children where each child finds their voice and shines bright!
At the end of each class, the teacher will direct the students to keep talking about their feelings with the trusted grown-ups around them and also use the strategies taught in each class, when necessary.

Week 5: Parents and children can make together the child's worry box and include objects that resemble the child's worries. Once the worry is contained in the box, it shouldn't overwhelm the child anymore. Parents and children can get the box when the child is worried about something and talk about their worries.

Week 6 class will encourage students to create a calm space in their own house/room. Teacher will not assess this suggested homework.

Week 8 class will encourage the children to make an outline of their own body with a trusted adult and talk about the ways their own emotions are felt in their own bodies. Teacher will not assess this suggested homework.
List of supplies: Week 1: The Angry Dragon Brain: space to move around, play dough, a bouncy ball (football or fitness ball), paper, colouring pens, a box of tissues.
