Using colorful slides, animal facts, questions and answers, moving like animals, and games like I Spy, we will learn about the lives of animals living in Winter conditions. At the end of each class I offer an optional sharing time, both to build community and to allow practice with presenting and sharing with others. Week 1 (01/08/24): We will learn how animals prepare for Winter. Week 2 ( 01/15/24): We will learn about migrating animals. Week 3 (01/22/24): We will learn about hibernation. Week 4 (01/29/29): We will learn how animals adapt for Winter conditions. (These dates are for example and it continues on in this order, whether the weeks are correct or not. You may inquire about specific topics for the week that you child would enroll.) The course will continue on from here and your child may join at any time.
Learning Goals
Animal-loving students will explore different types of Winter animals while learning about their diets, adaptations and habitats.
Students will use their visual and auditory skills, as well as patience and social skills to find out the answers to questions presented during each class while taking turns and helping each other. We have fun moving like animals and I may create songs to help us learn and remember. We will also include simple games to reinforce concepts presented.
