Description
Class Experience
Students will learn hobbies, travel and directions, money, age, time, weather, seasons, home, conversations skills, deaf culture, the history of ASL and name signs information and much more!
I love American Sign Language and I enjoy teaching this beautiful language. I have taken 4 years of formal ASL classes. I have also taught middle school ASL in a traditional classroom setting. I also enjoy signing songs in ASL for different events. This class will be fun and low key, but students will learn many new signs in a short time. I have been teaching here on Outschool for over a year and have taught over 500 students!
There will be a couple of fun assignments given, ( watch a show without sounds). Out of class review and practice is strongly encouraged.
Each class students are welcome to bring a piece of paper and something to write with for Fingerspelling practice and daily sentence. Each class there will be a handout given. Students may choose to take notes each class. Please have handout ready before class. Students can have handouts either printed out, written out or available on another device.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Skill reviews take place throughout classes as well as a course review the final day.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
This class is appropriate for the age group listed.
