Welcome!! This is a 10 week Multi-Day summer course that will cover the key concepts in the 8th grade math curriculum according to the common core state standards. This class is perfect for students who are either going into 8th grade and want the advantage of being taught the key concepts before beginning the class, for students who want to keep their 8th grade math skills sharp, or for students who need a bit of remediation with the 8th grade material. I have a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and 15 years of teaching experience, 3 of which have been online.
At the end of each class students will be given a cumulative worksheet to cover material from the class (and previous classes). We will go over all correct answers at the beginning of the next class and students will have time to ask questions and discuss solutions and their processes of answering the questions.
I expect each student to come to class with a pencil and notebook, ready to take notes and ready to participate. Most classes we will not use a calculator, however, if your learner requires accommodations where one is helpful, please message me, and they can use one during the lessons.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
