What's included
5 live meetings
3 hrs 45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Overview: This week-long Spanish camp meets each day from Monday to Friday and introduces 3-6 year olds to the Spanish language through the context of the pond. During this animal-themed camp we will learn real facts about animals, learn Spanish vocabulary, explore science concepts, sing in Spanish, and create crafts. This would be considered a beginner class and children new to Spanish are welcome! Class Structure: Part 1- Fact (about 20 minutes) Each class period begins by greeting each learner. We will sing a song in Spanish to introduce that day's animals and play a guessing game in Spanish to figure out which one is the “Animal del Día” (Animal of the Day). We will learn actual facts about this animal from a non-fiction book. The students will collaborate to write down their favorites. Then we will watch a short Spanish video (under 5 minutes) about the animal and listen for the vocabulary word in Spanish while watching the animal move and interact with its environment. Transition- An interactive activity (about 5 minutes) Part 2- Fiction (about 20 minutes) For the second part of the class we will read a fiction story showcasing our “Animal del Día” (Animal of the Day). Then we will create a craft together while talking in as much Spanish as the student is capable of. **Please note that Friday will be a review day and structured differently. We will play games like bingo and guess the animal with our vocabulary.** Teaching Style: This class uses visuals, songs, and interactive activities to keep children engaged. This class includes a lot of Spanish, but everything is translated into English, so it’s appropriate for beginner Spanish-language learners. Prerequisites: None. Come and have fun!
