In these courses, students will learn about four cities in four different sessions (London, Paris, Rome, New York). Using a picture book as an introduction, we will explore different aspects of these cities. After reading, students will learn how to locate these cities on a map. They will also learn to appreciate other cultural aspects, such as food and language. Finally, students will engage in critical thinking and reflection- through a bit of writing- upon the interesting facts they have learned.
I have traveled througout the world extensively, both as a tourist and as an educator/resident. I have a passion for teaching children about how to become good global citizens. This is such an important skill that is often overlooked in traditional education.
Any and all handouts will be provided by the teacher.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessed through casual question/answer at the end of each lesson.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
