Description

Class Experience

Explore the World of Stop Motion is a twelve week flexible schedule class designed to allow students to learn this fun and creative way to make a film all on their own. The first eight weeks we will discuss what stop motion is, what we need to create a stop motion film, the different techniques, script writing, scene making and special effects. Each week students will create a stop motion with each technique to share with the class. The last two weeks of class students will be creating their...

Students will work on each weeks assignments individually. I recommend 30 minutes to an hour a day.

Camera (can be a phone, i-pad, DSLR etc.)
Stop Motion Studio app (it is free)
printer paper
blank flash cards
light box (or something students can use to illuminate light behind the paper)
pencil
pen
something to color with; coloring pencil, watercolor paints, markers, crayons 
modeling clay 
cardboard
craft wire
We will also be using household objects and toys.
In students final project, it will be up to them for what materials they want to use.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Stop Motion Studio (app)

Assessments will be informal.

No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
