Students will learn the parts of the instrument, proper holding of the violin/bow and how to play the beginning of a song: "Twinkle, twinkle little star". Pizzicato and bow stroke will also be taught.
Students will be encouraged to practice what they have been shown. If the student wishes to continue learning the violin, I recommend purchase of Suzuki Violin School (book one) and lessons with a private teacher. I will be opening private one-on-one violin lessons for students on OutSchool using this book, so I would love to teach your child on a continuing basis if desired!
Students will need a tuned violin and bow.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Microsoft Powerpoint
- Suzuki Violin School Book 1
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Materials used in class are the Suzuki Violin School (book one)
