Explore the Cosmos

The students will join me on this space expedition, an ongoing class where we plunge into the endless solar system- learning about everything from planets, to asteroids, to significant spacecraft that have visited them!

Description

Class Experience

The main goal of this class is to launch a lifetime of space curiosity for these students. Students will discover new details about the planets, their moons, and spacecraft adventures.
I have several years experience as a science teacher. Space exploration is one of the most interesting topics to me, and I have found the enthusiasm with this subject is contagious! 😊
No homework will be required. I like to make worksheets for recurring students, but everything is optional.
No outside material needed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I am always available for private learner assessments with the parents, if requested.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
If relevant to the discussion, we may refer to NASA's website (solarsystem.nasa.gov) to try to locate where particular spacecraft are in the solar system. This is a fantastic website for students to explore. It is very informative and has "kid friendly" sections for younger minds to better understand.
