There will be a final project each student will present during our last class together. All students will receive a certificate of completion for their attendance and participation upon completion of this course.Class Experience
Come sing, move, and play games in Spanish! We will pretend to be in Peru and learn how to describe animals and landscapes. We will also review basic conversational phrases for introductions, emotions, and common questions. This class is an extension to the class: “Explore Spanish ~ ¡Vamos a Costa Rica!" however, all learners are welcome! All classes will include singing and games to maintain high interest and have fun! Class 1: I know frequently used classroom phrases. I can introduce myself in Spanish: “Me llamo ____________.” I can identify Peruvian animals in Spanish. I can say if various animals from Peru move fast or slow. (rápido, lento) I can say if I like or dislike animals. I can play a game to practice the concepts learned! Class 2: I can say how I feel in Spanish. “Estoy _____________.” I can describe Peruvian animals by color and size. I can name the regions in Perú. (la costa, la sierra, la selva) I can say where animals live in Peru. I can play a game to practice the concepts learned! Class 3: I can say where Peruvian animals live and where I live. I can name things I see in Perú. (Yo veo...) I can describe rainforest animals by color, size, speed, and where they live. I can play a game to practice the concepts learned in class! Class 4: I can have a mini conversation in Spanish! I can compare Perú and The United States. I can read and write about one Peruvian animal. I can play a game to practice the concepts learned! (Kahoot!) I can celebrate my learning!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their basic Spanish speaking skills and foster excitement for language learning by pretending to travel to the Spanish-speaking country Perú!

We will utilize Kahoot! two times throughout the duration of the course to review concepts learned. Kahoot is free and does not require a log-in. However, the student will need to see my screen, plus an additional screen. Students can access Kahoot, from a smartphone, tablet, or split-screen on the same device. My formal education includes a major in Spanish and a minor in education. I have been teaching Spanish to elementary-age students since 2010! My experience includes teaching in public schools for 9 years, online ESL for 6 years, and on Outschool since June 2020. I also have created Elementary Spanish curricula for a private online school, public schools, and all of my curricula on Outschool.
