Students will learn the basics of singing. Specifically, students will learn about: 1. Vocal agility 2. Posture 3. Proper breathing technique 4. Ear training 5. Pitch training These principles will be taught through vocal exercises, interactive instruction, and singing both Broadway and pop music. Each class will open with vocal warmups followed by ear training exercises. After, there will be a teaching on breathing or some other important principle of singing and performing. Lastly, we will practice our lesson using actual music. Every week we will learn a new song to practice the techniques learned. Though not required, singing in front of the class in encouraged. All students will be celebrated. Learning Goals
Your student will improve their intonation. They will also improve their confidence level as the learn to sing in front of other students.

Any materials needed will be provided by the teacher. However, a balloon and a mirror will be helpful for some lessons.

Hello! My name is Danette and I’m excited to teach your student.
I believe every student has a purpose and is uniquely gifted. My goal is to engage their minds to find their purpose while enjoying the journey.
I have taught music and theater arts on every age level. Though not every student is destined for a stage, every student can use the skills gained through arts education.
Though my primary training is in music, I have taught character matters on the secondary education level. I love coaching students in critical thinking, team-building, and interpersonal communication. All of these characteristics are vital for success in the current marketplace.
