In this ongoing class we will explore the many uses and features of fungi. Each week will focus a new fungus and green careers this awakening science offers, from growing entrepreneurs to sustainable industries to forest mycologists.

Class experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Each week students will explore the role of mushroom in our ecosystem, careers to work with mushrooms, cultivation techniques, and of course cooking these delicious morsels!

Assessments Offered
There is no formal assessment for this class. However, students are encouraged to grow their own mushrooms and share successes and failures of growing mushrooms.
Grades Offered
If students choose to grow mushrooms at home, adult supervision will be needed to help choose a safe location where the mushrooms can be set up and left in place. This site will need access to light, but not direct sunlight.
