Museums are a must-see for those who love Egypt and its fascinating history! Join me for an interactive virtual tour, where learners will choose their own itinerary of which top museums in Egypt they would like to explore. We'll visit the best exhibits of ancient art and artifacts, mummies and the treasures of their tombs, royal palaces and their wares, and much more that document Egypt's rich past. Stops on the tour will include Egypt's most famous and lesser-known treasure troves, like the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, Giza Solar Boat Museum, Manial Palace Museum, and the Crocodile Museum. We'll also discuss how and why some of Egypt's most famous ancient artifacts now reside in museums outside of Egypt. For aspiring archaeologists, we'll also highlight the work happening in Egypt today that allows these iconic museums to continue to add to their displays—including in a brand new mega museum that is set to open in Cairo this year! This class will be lively! Students will enjoy interacting with slides and trivia games, and the information presented will be bite-sized and memorable. No previous knowledge or experience required.
