25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this fun and exciting STEAM class, children will learn to draw a seasonal picture and create an explosion! INTRO: We will review the classroom rules and children will introduce themselves. They can share talk briefly about their favorite thing to do in the season. CONTENT: First, children will draw a snowman picture. **Parents, children will be using permanent markers for this portion, so please be aware and supervise as needed.** Next, children will hypothesize what will happen when we mix our ingredients together. Then, children will measure out the ingredients needed for the explosion. We will add the ingredients to the bag very carefully, and close it quickly. If your child needs help closing the bag quickly, please be near to assist. Finally, we will discuss the science behind why the bag exploded. I look forward to experimenting with your child! **This experiment is best done in cake pan, or somewhere you don't mind getting messy! Parents, please be near to assist as needed. **Please check ingredients carefully!
Learning Goals
Students will practice hypothesizing and experimenting in this course. They will also practice following step by step instructions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Washington State University
Hi, friends! My name is Teacher Angela, and I love teaching early learning classes. My classes include topics of early literacy, STEAM, circle time, and full curriculum classes. I have been working with kids as long as I can remember. I have babysat, been a nanny, and helped look after my 6 younger siblings.
I have my Bachelor's degree in Human Development, with a certificate in Child Development and Care. I have worked with preschoolers since 2010. Some of my roles have included teaching preschool, and acting as a Program Supervisor and Director of a child care center. I helped develop curriculum for the classrooms and helped grow the preschool program as a whole. I have worked with many curriculums, and I have training in Zoo-Phonics and Handwriting Without Tears. I also taught ESL online for 2 years. I am currently finishing my master's degree in Elementary Education.
My teaching style is to encourage conversation, engagement, and fun in the classroom. I think it is important for kids to have opportunities to share and interact. I also think it is so important for kids to have fun learning! Learning shouldn't just be through worksheets and homework, it should involve motions and play! In my classes, we will have so much fun learning. We will go on adventures, sing songs, do lots of arts and crafts, complete experiments, and use lots of movement. Some of my favorite book characters are Pete the Cat and Little Blue Truck. I can't wait to meet you in the classroom! :)
