Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will develop a strong understanding of the writing process, from brainstorming to publishing. They will learn how to research a specific topic, and compile that research into cohesive paragraphs in their own words.
Having worked with students in-person through this unit, I have seen first hand what learning the writing process does to improve student writing! I have been doing this unit with my students for 5 years, and being able to focus on a high interest subject truly increases engagement with the topic.
After class each week, students will be asked to take the next step in the writing process. For example, after learning about the research process, students will be asked to complete research from specific, safe websites using a pre-created research form. This will need to be ready by the next class.
Students will need to have access to a Google account. All required documents will be provided through the use of Google Classroom, the link to which will be shared during the first class. Google Slideshows will be shared after each class so students may refer back to learned information as needed.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
