I’ve taught math from Grade 1 to Grade 10, allowing me to pinpoint exactly where a student needs support. I am dedicated to building student confidence—every challenging concept is simply something we’re working through right now and can absolutely master! I have nearly 20 years of experience teaching math across multiple grade levels, from elementary through high school. I have taught in a variety of settings, including K-9 schools, middle schools, and high schools, and I have also served in district-wide leadership roles focused on math instruction.
Throughout my career, I have specialized in making math concepts approachable and understandable for all learners. My teaching philosophy centers on building conceptual understanding first—using virtual manipulatives, demonstrations, and interactive problem-solving—before introducing procedures and strategies that truly make sense to students.
I have extensive experience identifying and addressing learning gaps, ensuring that students have a strong foundation before moving forward. Because I have taught math at every level from Grade 1 through Grade 10, I know exactly which steps to revisit when a student is struggling with a concept.
Beyond the classroom, I have served as a Numeracy Program Coordinator and a district-wide Math and Science Coordinator, where I worked with teachers to develop instructional strategies that improve student outcomes.
