They will be encouraged to explore the methods and techniques shown through trial and error. Children will gain skills which foster critical thinking and problem solving.

Pictures and videos will be provided to help guide children with their paintings.  Clear examples will be given.  A complete supply list is listed.  Children will be inspired to make their paintings one of a kind.  Their self-expression and creativity will shine!

There are two different versions of this class using different methods. Please consider signing your child up for Version 2 as well. The classes can be taken in any order.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am brand new to Outschool. I have a Master of Science in Childhood Education, Grades 1-6 and Teaching with Disabilities, Grades 1-6.

I have facilitated Social Skills programs in an inclusionary elementary aged program (kindergarten through grade 5) for over 12 years. I also have led this program virtually.

I spent fifteen years as an Art Director in a recreation program coordinating and directing Arts & Crafts instruction to 1st-6th grade campers. This has always been my true passion!

I have previous experience in the business world. Most recently I have led therapeutic art programs virtually as an Art Specialist to developmentally disabled adults.

Here on Outschool, I will offer Social Skills programs/groups for kindergartners through fifth graders. My programs will be open to older children as well based on their needs and abilities. The programs will be live, but I am willing to offer Self-Paced programs or one-on-one sessions if you are interested. Please reach out and let me know your child's needs.

If a child has a need for assistance dealing with bullying, making friends, self-esteem, dealing with a certain emotion/feeling, etc., and would like a one-time class or a few sessions on a particular subject I am available.

During each Social Skills session, we will work on arts and crafts projects, read poetry and books, have group discussions, and play games; all while developing and increasing social skills. A good time, as well as a great learning experience is guaranteed! I will begin my Outschool classes offering a 12 week program, but will expand it based on interest.

With my experience in Arts & Crafts and Therapeutic Art I will also be offering classes in Basic Process Art. The classes are open to anyone, age does not matter! I have found children/adults of any age enjoy the same crafts and find great joy in completing a project. My classes will be one-time sessions, Self-Paced, one-on-one if desired, and live ongoing. If your child has an interest in a specific holiday, season, or type of craft I would love to compose a unique class for them. Please reach out with any requests.

I am a creative individual who looks to make each situation unique. Your child will feel at home in my classes. I will provide your child with ample opportunities for growth.

My schedule is open and I am willing to meet your child's needs. I am a night owl and do not mind teaching classes to children elsewhere in the world at a time that fits your schedule.

I love working on Arts & Crafts projects for different holidays and seasons. Painting is my favorite! I enjoy reading.

I am excited for my journey on Outschool! I look forward to working with your child. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
