This session is designed to pique students' interest in probability. It is not definition- or formula- heavy. Rather, students will discover the amazing ways probability informs our intuition and expectations of the world around us. We will accomplish this through a combination of instructor presentation and small group discussion. In the end, students will discover how probability can be used to enlighten or deceive and how a basic and relatively untechnical understanding of the subject...
Students will describe the relationship between probability and intuition.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
