In this active class, students will be instructed through a variety of activities geared to get their heart rate up, stretch muscles and improve age-appropriate gross motor skills all while participating with a small playground ball.

Have your child grab their favorite 4-12 inch bouncy ball for his class! This 45-minute class will start with a warm-up where the learners will be guided through an imaginative storyline to move their bodies. Next, we will spend some using the playground ball to work on some gross motor skills such as balancing, tossing/dropping and catching as well as locomotor movements (skip/gallop/tiptoe) and fine motor while holding the ball with different body parts in fun ways. Students will have the opportunity to improve their gross motor and locomotor skills as well as increase their heart rate for short amounts of time as they participate in this class. The share and tell session will encourage social skills such as perspective taking and empathy.
Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education & Exercise Science with teaching license. Taught k-8th grade H/PE for 6 years. Owned and operated My Gym Children's Fitness Center for 12 years
4-12 inch playground ball and a surface the ball can bounce on. Barefoot or shoes with good grip and that are meant for activity. Water bottle Students should wear appropriate clothing for movement. Please no dresses. A safe space of at least 3 feet around the child to move around in and play with a ball.
Teacher will give verbal feedback throughout class to help learners with their proper form.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class involves physical activity and carries a potential of injury. By enrolling in this class, parents/guardians agree to accept any and all risks of injury that may arise from participation in this class. When registering for this class, parents/guardians are stating that their child is physically healthy to participate in class. If a child should need any modifications, please message me, the teacher, 24 hours prior to the start of class so that I may have time to prepare an inclusion lesson. I am not a certified yoga instructor. Learners will be encouraged to bounce and toss a ball during this class. Please help your learner choose an area that they can safely follow along with the class.
