The class will start with a quick discussion about the skill we will be discussing each class. It will change from every week but will include things like planning out assignments, dealing with disappointments, focusing on our work, dealing with losing important materials, active listening, and dealing with setbacks. Additional topics covered will be things like sharing our thoughts and opinions in a kind way, how to handle being teased, taking responsibility for our choices, reading social...
Students will make connections from what happens in our weekly story to their own lives. They will begin to reflect on their own choices and hopefully pick up a few suggestions on how to make their school day a little easier.
All your child will need is a quiet place to relax and enjoy the story. You won't need to worry about prepping anything for this class as there are no printouts or materials for you to track down.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessments will be informal and based on our discussions.
25 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
