Description
Class Experience
By the end of this class, aspiring writers will have more awareness of the potential impact of their word choice and sentence structure and be equipped with more tools to write better fiction and non-fiction.
I'm an American Writers & Artists Institute trained copywriter and editor with professional freelance experience. I'm currently writing my first non-fiction book.
Students are encouraged to have a pencil and paper (or laptop with a word processor program installed, e.g., Microsoft Word) and a thesaurus (either print or online) for use during class
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
During class, I'll read short excerpts from several works of fiction and non-fiction so that students can see word choice, sentence style and structure, literary devices, and dialogue being used in effective ways by skilled writers.
