Halloween and creepy story loving learners will engage with the weird, scary and wonderful world of arthropods.

Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 7

Learners will explore insect anatomy and morphology while delving into the scary world of real life zombies and mummies. The ecology and relationships associated with parasites, parasitoids, and fungi will be investigated as we follow the pathology of disease from multiple perspectives. Classes are high energy, engaging and student focused.

A combination of games, visuals and interactive discussion will lead learners to deeper understanding of the topic.

Paper and writing utensils are recommended

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Topics include diseases and parasites of insects which lead to the death of the infected insect. Pictures and videos of infected insects will be shown during class and may disturb some learners. All subjects are approached from a scientific perspective and an understanding that this is part of the natural course of nature.
