1 hour per week. Use the multi-step study sheet to further reinforce the correct spelling of the words misspelled in class. Complete skill-building activities which will be provided after class to reinforce, and drill spelling words and skills.Assessment
Every student will be assessed with a pre-test during each class session. Each correctly spelled word will be valued at 1 point and every student will know which word was misspelled after each test is taken. Your highschooler will use a special multi-step study sheet to guide them through the steps that research consistently proves most effective for learning to spell words. It usually takes less than 5 minutes to complete these effective, multi-sensory study steps. and then your teenager will take a post-spelling test in the same class session to see their improvement.Class Experience

🔴To get an idea of which time and day best fits your child, please scroll down to the red STOP sign 🛑, or simply sign your child up and I will assess. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. :) 🟢This ongoing spelling class is multi-sensory and multi-level. We will begin class with a pre-test session through a Google Forms link, which will accomplish several important tasks: review phonetic principles and spelling rules, and selection of new words to study. 🟢Even though this is a group class, your child will NEVER be put on the spot or embarrassed! All scores are private. Your child will know instantly which words were misspelled, and no one else but myself. 🟢This is NOT a one-size-fits-all all spelling class! I will meet your child where they're at. After the first class, I will communicate to you the best fit and recommendations to best suit your child's needs. 🟢Each word list will contain 10-30 words children and adults most frequently use and misspell. After your child takes the pre-test, your child will instantly know which words to focus on. 🟢Your child will use a special multi-step study sheet to guide them through the steps that research consistently proves most effective for learning to spell words. It usually takes less than 5 minutes to complete these effective, multi-sensory study steps. 🟢Before class ends, we will then take a post spelling test to see how much improvement has been made. At the end of class, your child will know which words to continue to review for retention. 🟢Although this is an ongoing class, review words and review lists will be included in the following weeks. Various words that were given in one class will be given in upcoming classes for reinforcement. 🟢Skill-building activities will be provided after class to reinforce and drill spelling words and skills. 🟢The schedule below is an example of what to expect in class. Spelling achievements fluctuate and we might be slightly ahead or behind depending on the students. If your child will be unable to attend the class that week, simply pause the class prior to Sunday and you won't be charged for that week; however, it isn't possible for me to hold your seat in the class when you unsubscribe if it were to fill up with another learner. This class is for ages 10-15, and is flexible with ages. If you have older children, I have additional listings for ages 15-18. 🛑Optional: Assess your child's level. You child should NOT study the words or even see the list. If your child misspells 5-8 words then they belong in that particular level.
