US Grade 7 - 10
Imagine a land blanketed in snow and ice, where the howling winds carve through ancient, frozen forests. The Greying Wildlands are teeming with both beauty and danger. Glacial landscapes, hidden caves, and abandoned ruins dot the terrain. The Northern Lights paint the night sky in vivid hues, adding an otherworldly feel to the surroundings. Yet, beneath the serene beauty lies a mystery waiting to be unraveled. Throughout the six-week journey, elements from the DnD world of Exandria will be woven into the adventures. Students may encounter remnants of the mysterious illness that once plagued the land, encountering clues, and piecing together the story behind its origins. They might face challenges involving creatures mutated by the sickness or explore locations tied to its history. Through this immersive journey into the Greying Wildlands, students will not only experience the thrill of adventuring but also develop valuable skills applicable beyond the realm of D&D. As their characters face challenges together, they'll forge friendships and memories that extend far beyond the classroom. Class Structure: Session 1 - Session Zero: - Introduction to Exandria and the Greying Wildlands - Character building workshop - World setting and group cohesion exercises Students create their characters, choosing races and classes that suit their imagination. They're encouraged to craft backstories that tie into the Greying Wildlands, sparking connections to the setting. As the campaign progresses, character growth and personal narratives will intertwine with the overarching story. Sessions 2-6 - Weekly Adventures: Each week, delve into a new adventure module inspired by the frozen wastelands of the far north. Challenges range from solving mysteries to battles against icy creatures. Emphasis on teamwork, critical thinking, and role-playing.

Master's Degree in Education from Virginia International University
Bachelor's Degree in English from California State University San Bernardino
Hello, and welcome! I am a passionate teacher who loves learning as much as as I do teaching. I have been teaching for the last seven years both online and in person. I have a BA in English; Creative Writing, an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), a TEFL certificate and a certificate of Teaching Business English. I employ a task-based learning approach in my classrooms, in which I provide authentic topics and tasks that my students can connect with and practice the target objectives under a fun and relatable theme. I believe in an active learning environment which constantly challenges myself and my students to think deeper and reach farther than we have before. With this in mind, I end all of my classes with an optional activity that will allow them to use that material presented in class in tandem with their own thoughts or ideas in an extension assignment.
I love to plan my teaching schedule around your schedule requests, so please don't hesitate to put in a request if you don't see a class at a time you like. I am always happy to make a time that suits you.
