Students will look at crime drama detectives and the evolution of the role of women over 3 weeks. In week 1, students will look at the role of women in crime dramas from the 1940s- 1970s. In week 2, students will look at the role of women in crime dramas from the 1980s-early 2000s. In the third week, students will look at women in crime dramas from 2010- present. Some crime dramas that will be looked at will be The Big Sleep, Maltese Falcon, Dragnet, Hill St Blues, Remington Steele, Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Miami Vice, and Magnum, P. I. (Original and current series) among others, This class will be taught using video clips and discussion of clips
Learning Goals
Students will learn about women empowerment over time and the role of women in crime dramas from damsels in distress to high ranking detectives.

I will be showing clips from detective shows.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
