This course is packed full of information and ready for your mini-unit study. Students will learn the following: 1. Formation and geology of the Grand Canyon 2. Flora and fauna 3. Map skills 4. Debate skills 5. Understand what Uranium mining is and its impacts and benefits 6. Understand the parts of a river and how they flow 7. Understand how layers of sedimentary rock are deposited in a stratigraphic column 8. Research an endangered species 9. Understand what an unconformity is
I am a Geologist and homeschool mom and I really enjoying bringing science to life for young learners.
There are no live meetings in this Flex class so students work at their own pace keeping in mind the due dates posted in the classroom. This work should take around 2 hours (maybe more for some students) each week.
