Has your learner played chess before, but still struggles with the basics? Did they teach themselves, or learn from friends or family, but are still confused by some concepts without the guidance of formal instruction? Are they planning on taking an upcoming Intermediate-level chess course, but could use a quick refresher on all of the prerequisite material? This 60-minute seminar is perfect for learners with beginner-intermediate experience with chess, to catch up to speed on basic...
By the end of the hour, students will have a thorough foundational understanding of the game of chess, how to plan ahead, and how to win against their peers. Parents may want to listen in from the background if they’re going to be able to keep up with their kids’ chess skills after this! We will also answer any questions that novice players may have about chess - even if we run over the hour of time at the end.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
